Yello Hotel marks a significant milestone of its joy-filled existence as it commemorates its 5th years in the hospitality industry. Driven by a dream, Yello Hotel has now launched itself from its trials, ready to take on a brighter outlook as it enters a new era filled with joy.
“Yello Hotel was started with the dream to enter the hospitality industry. We wanted to become masters of taking care of our customers so that when we enter into the real estate industry, we could use that expertise and take care of our future clients as if we were in a hotel,” said to Carlostito Angelo T. Gothong, the Chief Operating Officer of Yello Hotel.
Since its inception in December 2019, Yello Hotel has come a long way. The past five years held so many ups and downs, but through resilience, a can-do attitude, and a firm belief in providing joy, Yello Hotel stands tall, all because of the hard work of its people.
“We started with the end in mind, but as owners, we lacked expertise. We had to go through many learnings and challenges to become good at taking care of customers as if they were being welcomed into our own homes. The learning curve in the hospitality industry is brutal, and we had to go through it, trial by fire,” Carlostito said when asked to recount the key milestones and challenges faced during the founding process.
This statement proved to be very true during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a remarkable display of adaptability and community spirit, the hotel transformed into a multi-use facility, serving as a quarantine hotel for two years, even weathering the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
But even in the midst of these trials, Yello Hotel never forgot to be grateful for the blessings. During this period, Yello Hotel extended gratitude and joy to healthcare workers.
Aside from distributing cookies and white brew bottles to various hospitals, the Yellow Care Medical Frontliners Bike project was initiated by the Gothong Southern Foundation and Yello Hotel, with the support of the Aboitiz Foundation, which aimed to increase mobility to the medical frontliners in Cebu amidst the pandemic. A total of 338 bikes assisted around 150 medical frontliners in Cebu.
A New Chapter of Growth
Yello Hotel has experienced a significant surge in both local and foreign guest occupancy in the years following the pandemic. As travel restrictions eased and the global tourism industry rebounded, the hotel has witnessed a steady increase in bookings from both local and foreign guests booking their special moments at Yello Hotel from parties to business meetings.
From a multiple-use hotel or a Mabuhay Accommodation, Yello Hotel has finally gained its accreditation from the Department of Tourism as a hotel and envisions itself as a DOT-3-star accredited property.
In October 2023, Amarillo, the hotel’s restaurant, underwent a significant renovation, launching a fresh look and a revamped menu featuring a varied range of international cuisine.
To further raise up the dining experience, Amarillo transitioned into a sports bar in July 2024, offering a delectable selection of finger foods like chicken wings, fish and chips, and nachos. And just recently, on October 9, 2024, the restaurant introduced Executive Lunch Sets and Chef’s Specials, providing a delightful culinary experience for all.
Beyond its commitment to providing exceptional hospitality, Yello Hotel is dedicated to giving back to the community. Through initiatives like tree planting at Cambagocboc Elementary School, the hotel strives to make a positive impact on the environment and society.
